Ron Porte is a partner in New Ground, LLC, an organization that offers coaching to clients throughout the United States. He is a certified coach, a graduate of the Coaches Training Institute and he served on the founding board of directors for the Chicago Chapter of the International Coach Federation. Ron coaches clients who are seeking to improve their business and/or personal lives and recognize the need for growth and change.

Ron has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and over 35 years of business experience. His background includes banking and advertising sales prior to his 30 year career in a large Chicago service business. During that entrepreneurial period, he spent 16 years as the company president. In February, 2000, when Ron sold the company he had purchased from its founders in 1987, revenue had tripled, the active customer base included over 15,000 clients, and employee retention statistics exceeded industry averages by 250%. Ron has also accumulated over 30 years of service as a Director on six different boards for various industry, recreational, and service organizations. He served as President for three of those boards.

In 1996, Ron organized and facilitated his first focus group comprised of CEO's, CFO's, and other high-level business leaders. Dramatic business changes resulted for every participant.

Acting as a non-judgmental sounding board, Ron currently coaches executives, managers, and entrepreneurs on leadership issues that might include communication, productivity, marketing strategies, customer relations, employee retention, and stress reduction. Drawing on the client's creativity and resourcefulness, coaching creates a trusting environment to look candidly at these areas from a curious viewpoint. Very significant shifts are often the result.

On a personal note: Ron has been happily married for 34 years, lives in a suburb of Chicago, and is the proud father of two sons. The older, a graduate of the University of Southern California, lives and works in Chicago. The younger is also anticipating a degree from USC and is due to graduate in May, 2006. Ron's hobbies include exercising and skiing, but golf is a passion. Currently a 4 handicap, he plays competitively in regional events.
